History

K’oneko Sakiku’s life began in the spring, a time when the air was still crisp, and the earth had not yet fully warmed under the sun’s embrace. Born on the outskirts of Ishgard, she was the daughter of K’lino, a woman of the Hipparion tribe whose exile would shape the course of K’oneko’s existence. K’lino had once been a respected member of the tribe, but when she found herself with child, a child that she did not bear with the tribe’s Nunh, she was cast out. K’lino never revealed the identity of K’oneko’s father, and in the shadow of that secret, she gave her daughter no family name. They found refuge in a humble shack nestled deep in the woods, far from prying eyes. Here, K’oneko spent her childhood, cradled in the loving care of her mother. K’lino, a skilled alchemist, made her living selling potions and elixirs to the few travelers who passed by. She taught K’oneko everything she knew about the art of alchemy. Despite the isolation and the limited means, K’oneko’s world was rich with the lessons of her mother, and she treasured them deeply, scribbling each secret formula and recipe into the many journals she kept hidden in the corners of their small home. When K’oneko was twelve summers old, her mother fell ill. K’lino, though fierce and proud, could not outrun the grasp of sickness. K’oneko, with all the heart she could muster, tried to help, but her knowledge of medicine was limited. For two long years, they fought the disease together, until one day, when K’oneko was fourteen, her mother’s fight ended. K’lino was laid to rest in the quiet woods where they had lived, and K’oneko, alone, was left to navigate the world without her.For months, K’oneko stayed in the shack that had once been her home, the memories of her mother’s warmth echoing through the empty walls. But she could not bear the stillness, the haunting silence of a life once filled with laughter and the sounds of alchemical work. She packed her things—the journals, the tools, everything that her mother had left her—and decided to set out. At first, the loneliness drove her, but deep down, she knew that the time had come to live for something greater than her grief.K’oneko wandered through Eorzea and beyond, her travels taking her from the rolling hills of Thavnair to the bustling streets of Ul’dah. Along the way, she learned new crafts, honed her skills, and met alchemists and apothecaries who became her mentors and friends. It was during these travels that K’oneko sought the legendary Nidhana, hoping to learn more about the craft she had inherited, but fate had other plans for her.In Thavnair, barely a bell had passed before she met him—Keimei, an Au Ra with scales as white as snow, whose gaze was piercing, whose presence was captivating. He was unlike anyone K’oneko had ever known. Their bond was instant. On their first evening together, they shared a meal of sautéed mushroom curry, and from then on, they were inseparable. Despite K’oneko’s initial reluctance toward romance—having grown up without much guidance—Keimei’s warmth and understanding were irresistible.Keimei, ever protective and patient, saw the fragility in K’oneko’s spirit, and it moved him to teach her how to fight. He could not bear the thought of a world where she was vulnerable, so he made it his mission to teach her the ways of combat. K’oneko, though small in stature, proved an apt pupil. With an axe carefully crafted to suit her size, she began to stand beside Keimei in battle, their partnership forged in both love and steel.Five years passed, and together they moved to Kugane, hoping to make a life in the vibrant city, helping those in need. They purchased a home in the Shirogane residential district, dreaming of a future where their home would echo with the sound of children’s laughter. Though they knew their differing races might complicate matters, Keimei’s heart was set on adoption. The thought of children running through the halls, their joy filling the spaces between them, was a dream K’oneko shared. But fate, cruel as ever, would not allow that dream to bloom. After a year in Kugane, the couple took a job in Mor Dhona—tracking a creature that had been terrorizing the region. What seemed like a simple job quickly turned into a nightmare. In the cold, eerie night, they encountered a man whose empty eyes betrayed the presence of something far darker within. The man, his body possessed by a voidsent, attacked with the ferocity of a storm. The creature, a follower of Calofisteri, was too powerful. In the chaos that followed, Keimei was brought to his knees, mortally wounded.Fury and heartache consumed K’oneko. In a desperate act of rage, she lunged at the demon, but the voidsent abandoned its vessel before she could strike. It turned its eyes upon her, attempting to possess her. But something went terribly wrong. The demon’s form dissipated, leaving K’oneko on the ground, her beloved lost to her, her memories shattered. The voidsent had failed to claim her body, but in doing so, it tore her memories from her, leaving her with a blank slate. When K’oneko awoke, she was alone in the woods, her lover’s body beside her, lifeless. She didn’t know where she was, who she was, or who the man next to her had been. She fled in panic, running until her strength gave out, collapsing in a secluded cove where, slowly, the memories of her last hour came rushing back to her. The body at her side was Keimei’s. She had lost him, and grief tore through her like a storm.K’oneko returned to his body, and with shaky hands and tear-filled eyes, she buried him. But as she worked, she noticed something strange—her left hand was solid black, marked with intricate designs, faces, and scratches that she could not recall. She had no memory of marking her skin, and the strange ink seemed to pulse with a dark energy. She spent a week at Revenant’s Toll, her mind adrift, struggling to piece together the fragments of her life. The memories of Keimei and her life in Kugane returned slowly, but the marks on her skin—the faces etched into her flesh—remained a mystery. She sought answers, but none came.In the years that followed, K’oneko traveled once more. She visited her childhood home, now crumbled and overtaken by nature, and felt the fleeting stir of memories of her mother. She sought solace in the study of alchemy, attempting to reclaim a sense of normalcy. She visited libraries, seeking knowledge about the strange markings on her skin and the voidsent’s influence. But her journey for answers led to more questions. One day, after returning to her apartment in the Lavender Beds, she found a Viera sitting on her couch—Juliette, a sorceress who had once served the same voidsent that had caused so much pain in K’oneko’s life. Juliette explained the truth of K’oneko’s condition: the voidsent’s failed possession had transferred aether into her, leaving the black markings as a record of the souls it had consumed.Though K’oneko tried to scrub the marks from her skin, they remained, a permanent reminder of her torment. Juliette offered a solution—extracting the aether—but their attempts led to arguments and a falling out, leaving K’oneko to struggle alone with her cursed condition. Now, K’oneko lives in the Lavender Beds, keeping mostly to herself. She continues her work and studies, searching for a way to free herself from the curse that binds her. The faces on her skin may be a reminder of all she’s lost, but they are also a symbol of her strength—a strength she carries forward, determined to find peace amid the shadows of her past.

OOC Information

Hi! Thanks for stopping taking time to read my carrd.I am relatively new to role playing in FFXIV, but have been writing for over a decade. I am 28 years old. I utilize multiple characters for role play (more about them below).I tend to be online in game later at night, but for the most part I role-play mostly in discord just due to time, work, and life balance and restrictions. I am still open to role-playing in game if time permits, but will be easier to get in touch with on discord for the most part.As far as themes go, I am pretty open to exploration and themes. While I tend to stick to adventure and dynamic narrative role play, I am open to dark and mature role play as well. As a character, I do not seek erotic role play, nor will I participate in erotic themes with others.I am open to utilizing dice rolls in role play.I'm sure it does not have to be said, but I am not my character, and actions and feelings that my character(s) has/have should not be seen as or confused with my own actions and feelings.

Role Play Requirements

❀ 21+. This is a requirement.❀ No walk-ups. Please approach out of character to set a scene.❀ No major life-altering events unless previously discussed before-hand.❀ Third-Person narrative is preferred.❀ Post length can vary; 1-4 paragraphs is preferred, though I do very much enjoy multi (8+) narrative paragraph role-play as well.❀ Discord is the preferred means of contact to discuss and schedule scenes. You can reach me on discord @ blossomxcx❀ I will not role play mature and/or dark themes with Lalafells.
